So Saturday night I went to
a friends backyard for a hang out…and I had an encounter with a very great friend of mine that made me think of you…
My long-time friend Russ stopped by…and after one too many gin & tonics he says to me:
"Ya know…I could never understand why we never got together…"
Mind you…this came off as a COMPLETE shock to me…because 1. I've always looked at him like he was family…and 2….cuz I never knew he was even interested!
He never flirted with me, playfully touched me, noticed the way I looked…NOTHING.
Don't get me wrong…I had the hugest crush on him when I first met him…
Every time he called to hang out I got butterflies in my stomach and would eagerly agree…I'd gaze into his eyes and laugh at all his jokes whenever we were around each other…
Would parade around in my cutest outfits to try to catch his attention…
I'd even complain to my friends about how I just don't think he's into me like that and how he probably looks at me like a little sister…
Eventually he was just the guy who'd give me a ride if I needed it…the guy I'd invite go lunch with instead of dinner…the guy I looked at like a brother…and the guy who was eventually just another friend.
Well APPARENTLY…Russell would pace back and forth before calling me, nervous about asking me to hang out…he would ask his OTHER girl friends for advice on me to see if I was into him…and he would even drop everything he was doing whenever I called him for a favor…
…just so he could PROVE TO ME that he was an awesome candidate for a boyfriend!
We had SOOOO much fun together but I eventually told myself that he wasn't into me LIKE THAT…and I moved on.
Anyway, it didn't take long after his question for us to realize that we BOTH really liked each other…and that we both just kept our mouths shut while waiting on the other person to profess his or her undying love
for the other…
And now…we're both happily married…to OTHER people :-)
But then it made me think about you…and wonder if you're in the same situation Russ and I were in 10 or so years ago…and what it would be like if you could get her RIGHT NOW…
…instead of losing her and waiting 10 years to realize you were exactly who she wanted too… :-(
SOOOO…with that said…I wanted to give you something SPECIFICALLY CATERED to your needs regarding the Friend Zone…
Because us ladies can't wait forever for you to make your move!
So if being the "nice guy" who typically becomes the trusted friend…just to watch your girl fall for some OTHER guy…when you know DAMN WELL she should've been yours…
